İTS 2026 technology and entrepreneurship meetup: new projects from AI to cybersecurity

Kalkhan Security founder Fatih Yaşar noted that cyber attackers target not only technical vulnerabilities but user errors directly, drawing attention to social engineering and phishing attacks.

At İTS 2026 — the Technology and Entrepreneurship Meetup — Türkiye’s technology and entrepreneurship ecosystem came together; projects spanning artificial intelligence to cybersecurity met investors and members of the press. Kalkhan Security founder Fatih Yaşar assessed Türkiye’s cybersecurity agenda as part of the event.
Yaşar stressed that the two most critical gaps in Turkish cybersecurity are skilled human resources and awareness. Noting that today’s attackers go after the human factor directly rather than only technical vulnerabilities, he underlined that social engineering and phishing attacks are among the most common entry points for organisations.
Stating that a single careless click by an employee can compromise even the strongest security infrastructure, Yaşar said that alongside technology investment, training and awareness matter at least as much as the product itself.
Noting that Kalkhan Security develops fully domestic antivirus and endpoint security software, Yaşar emphasised that Türkiye has the capacity to produce world-class cybersecurity technologies, concluding: “The area we truly need to invest in is people.”
The biggest gap in Turkish cybersecurity is definitely skilled human resources and awareness. Attackers no longer target only technical vulnerabilities — they target the human factor directly.

Even if you build the world’s strongest infrastructure, without qualified experts to manage it or a conscious team that knows what to click, you are not safe. The area we truly need to invest in is people.
